Sports Injuries

Sports injuries need more than pain relief, they need you back to the load, speed and confidence your sport demands. Find your injury below.

Draft, awaiting clinical review

The copy on this page is written and is waiting on clinical sign-off. It carries noindex and stays out of the sitemap until a clinician reviews it and a review date is recorded, which is what makes the medical statements on it attributable.

  • ACL Tear & Knee Ligament Injury

    knee ligament injury

A twisting or pivoting injury to the knee's stabilising ligaments. The rehabilitation determines the outcome more than the surgical decision does.

  • Hamstring Strain

    pulled hamstring

A tear at the back of the thigh, with one of the highest reinjury rates in sport. Strength at long muscle lengths is what changes that.

  • Rotator Cuff Injury

    shoulder tendon injury

Tendinopathy through to full-thickness tears in the four muscles that stabilise the shoulder. A tear on a scan is not automatically the cause.

  • Shin Splints

    shin pain in runners

Pain along the inner shin in runners. A load problem that can progress toward a stress fracture if it is worked through.

  • Achilles Tendinopathy

    Achilles tendon pain

Pain and stiffness in the Achilles tendon. Mid-portion and insertional behave differently, and the distinction changes the programme.

  • Meniscus Tear

    knee cartilage tear

A tear in the knee's load-spreading cartilage. Acute traumatic tears and degenerative ones behave differently and are managed differently.

Not sure which of these matches your symptoms? That is what the assessment is for, and working it out is part of the first visit.
