Ankle Sprain
twisted ankle
A ligament injury that heals faster than the balance and control it takes away. That gap is why sprains recur.
Chiropractic & Manual Therapy pillar
Support during return to activity, an adjunct, not a treatment.

Draft, awaiting clinical review
The copy on this page is written and is waiting on clinical sign-off. It carries
noindex and stays out of the sitemap until a clinician reviews it and a review
date is recorded, which is what makes the medical statements on it attributable.
Elastic kinesiology tape and rigid bracing, applied to support a joint or muscle during recovery or return to activity.
Honest framing. Evidence for kinesiology tape is mixed. It may help with pain and with awareness of a joint’s position; claims about it lifting the skin to improve circulation or lymphatic drainage are not well supported. Bracing has clearer support where mechanical stability is genuinely needed.
It is used here as an adjunct, something that helps you get through a phase, rather than as treatment in its own right.
You are returning to activity after injury and want support during the transition. You need a joint protected while it recovers. Or you find taping helps you manage symptoms during a training block.
Ankle Sprain, Knee Pain, Rotator Cuff Injury, Tennis Elbow.
Tape usually stays on for several days including through showering. Some people react to the adhesive, tell us if you have sensitive skin and we will patch test.
What it is used for
Generated from the condition pages themselves, so this list and the treatments named on each of those pages are always the same list read from two directions.

pain on the outside of the elbow
A tendon problem at the outside of the elbow, far more often from work and gripping than from sport.
Before you book
The evidence is mixed. Some people find it helps with pain and joint awareness. The stronger claims made for it are not well supported, and we would rather say so.
Usually a few days, including through showering.
Depends on whether the joint needs genuine mechanical stability or just support and feedback. Assessment establishes which.
