Draft, awaiting clinical review

The copy on this page is written and is waiting on clinical sign-off. It carries noindex and stays out of the sitemap until a clinician reviews it and a review date is recorded, which is what makes the medical statements on it attributable.

Blocked until answered:

  • Who delivers nutrition advice, at which clinic, and under what qualification.

Guidance on eating to support training, recovery and rehabilitation: what to eat around sessions, how to support tissue healing after injury, and how to fuel a heavy training block.

Practical and specific to how you actually eat, rather than a template meal plan.

Scope. This is sports and exercise nutrition. It is not clinical dietetics. Nutrition for medical conditions, weight management as a clinical intervention, or disordered eating are outside this scope, and we will refer you to an appropriate specialist.

Who it helps

You are training hard and not recovering well. You are rehabilitating an injury and want to support healing. You are increasing training load. Or you want practical guidance rather than what you have read online.

How it works

  1. What you currently eat, honestly, and what your training looks like.
  2. Where the gaps are. Usually timing and total intake rather than anything exotic.
  3. Practical changes, fitted around your routine and what you actually like eating.
  4. Review. Adjusted as your training changes.

What to expect

Bring a rough record of a few typical days. The advice is specific and small, things you can actually do, rather than a plan you will abandon.

Frequently asked questions

Will you give me a meal plan?

Usually not. Plans get abandoned. Practical changes to what you already eat tend to last.

Do I need supplements?

Mostly not. Where something is genuinely worth considering, we will say so and explain why.

Can you help with weight loss?

Not as a clinical intervention. For training-related body composition within sport, yes, but clinical weight management should go to a dietitian.
