Achilles Tendinopathy
Achilles tendon pain
Pain and stiffness in the Achilles tendon. Mid-portion and insertional behave differently, and the distinction changes the programme.
Sports Injury & Recovery pillar
Programmed around your sport and your injury history, supervised properly.
No referral needed · One-to-one throughout · Available at both clinics
Draft, awaiting clinical review
The copy on this page is written and is waiting on clinical sign-off. It carries
noindex and stays out of the sitemap until a clinician reviews it and a review
date is recorded, which is what makes the medical statements on it attributable.
Structured strength and conditioning delivered by clinicians rather than in a general gym setting. Programmes are built around what your sport demands and around whatever you have injured before.
The distinction from ordinary gym training is the clinical context. If you have a history of hamstring strains, a shoulder that dislocated, or a back that flares, the programme accounts for it rather than working around it by avoidance.
You have finished rehabilitation and want to keep building. You want to be more robust for your sport. You have a history of injury and want to train without provoking it. Or you want a programme designed rather than copied.
Used following most sports injuries, and for Lower Back Pain where capacity is the limiting factor.
Training kit and shoes. Sessions are work, not treatment.
The starting load will likely be lower than you expect. Starting conservatively and progressing is what makes programmes succeed; starting hard is what makes people stop.
What it is used for
Generated from the condition pages themselves, so this list and the treatments named on each of those pages are always the same list read from two directions.
Achilles tendon pain
Pain and stiffness in the Achilles tendon. Mid-portion and insertional behave differently, and the distinction changes the programme.
pulled hamstring
A tear at the back of the thigh, with one of the highest reinjury rates in sport. Strength at long muscle lengths is what changes that.
Front, side, deep or below the kneecap. Where and when it hurts is what tells the causes apart.
knee cartilage tear
A tear in the knee's load-spreading cartilage. Acute traumatic tears and degenerative ones behave differently and are managed differently.
shin pain in runners
Pain along the inner shin in runners. A load problem that can progress toward a stress fracture if it is worked through.
Before you book
The clinical context. Programmes are built around injury history and around returning to a specific demand, by people who treated the injury.
No. The programme starts where you are and the technique is taught.
Loading a back appropriately generally helps it. Loading it badly or too quickly does not, which is why supervision matters early on.
